Twittering through the Blizzard

I”ve had a really productive week so far, mainly focusing on a lot of web related updates work  both for myself and for a couple of clients.

Thanks to Tweetdeck I still feel plugged into the world economy. I think what is really interesting is how much new information comes via twitter rather than from anywhere else. Now that people have resorted to linking anything that’s vaguely interesting to get a following, the number of white papers, discussions and breaking news that comes in is actually impacting on info received both via social networking sites – and Radio 4.

For those who haven’t got it yet, it’s a remarkable practical experiment in what works and doesn’t work in permission marketing.  The non-twitterati tend to ask how much time does it take – but the truth is that if you are smart you can leverage all the posting you’re doing online anyway.

You do this by using Twitterfeed.  So far I’ve managed to pick up feeds from this blog, and a whole range of things on Ecademy

  • My blog
  • anything posted in the How to do Business Club
  • My Status
  • Items posted in the market place

The same trick would work with any social medium such as Facebook that throws a reliable RSS feed.

So its a vital new tool in the on-line marketing arena and is remorselessly taking up more space in the Punch Above Your Weight programme.

If you want to start playing feel free to download some Twitterfeed notes I created – let me know how you get on.

And if you want to you can follow me on twitter too!
